Educators will interact with our educational webiste IWitness and will be introduced to the multimedia activity “Immigrants and the American Dream”, which includes audiovisual testimonies from survivors and eyewitnesses of genocide. As the testimonies highlight themes of belonging, hope, and resilience, participants will discuss how the use of these unique primary sources in their lessons will elicit critical thinking and civil discourse to build stronger and compassionate communities.
Educators will:
- Engage with a multimedia activity, “Immigrants and the American Dream” that allows students to critically think about universal themes of belonging, hope and resilience
- Gain strategies for integrating audiovisual testimony in the classroom to build civil discourse and community
- Participate in collaborative discussions addressing how testimony can be used across the curriculum
