Dorothea Lange used photography to help tear down the walls of intolerance. Using the DBQ Project’s inquiry approach, participants will explore what exactly Lange was trying to say through her photographs. DBQ’s have long been used in the upper grades to elicit historical thinking and writing, but with the right documents and scaffolding, they are also ideal for younger students.
